**Role Description/Criteria**

St Francis of Assisi Primary School is seeking an applicant who is an experienced Wellbeing leader and is motivated, has a proven capacity to help each student achieve their greatest potential through meeting their social and emotional needs and a willingness to enhance wellbeing programs and initiatives.The Student Wellbeing Leader will work collaboratively with the Deputy Principal/PBL Leader and Learning Diversity Leader to enhance the wellbeing practices across the school.

Applicants will possess the skills and abilities to promote high expectations for all, embrace a collaborative approach to wellbeing, learning and teaching, and demonstrate their contribution to the ongoing development of our learning community.

The successful applicant will be offered a two year contract to the Student Wellbeing Role and an ongoing teaching position.

St Francis of Assisi Primary School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.

Applicants are asked to demonstrate:

- experience with the Positive Behaviours for Learning approach
- experience in supporting students social and emotional needs
- an ability to develop and maintain respectful and caring relationships with students, families and colleagues
- an understanding of evidence based best practice and high impact teaching strategies especially in the area of wellbeing
- an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- a capacity to use data to make informed decisions about wellbeing interventions
- a commitment to Catholic education, and an understanding of the leadership role in Catholic education
- a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children
- knowledge of current legislation around child safety and other areas linking to wellbeing
- a high level of theoretical and operational knowledge of student wellbeing initiatives
- additional qualification to initial teacher education (e.g. Master’s degree in Wellbeing or other relevant qualification) is an advantage
- extensive management and leadership experience in Wellbeing
- strong interpersonal, empathetic and negotiating skills and exceptional communication skills
- accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school or a willingness to gain this
- current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
