**A bit about the role**

The Medical Administrator is part of a multidisciplinary team based in the Living Room Primary Health Clinic. The Clinic provides free health services through a team of medical professionals, including Doctors, Nurses, a range of part-time and co-located allied health and mental health professionals, and community services.

Note: The Living Room works with people aged 18+.

**Key Requirements**
- Certificate/Qualification in Health Administration or Minimum 2 years' experience working in a medical practice
- Experience working with clients experiencing multiple and complex needs
- Strong ability to work autonomously & multitask in a busy reception setting
- Experience using medical practice software
- Experience and familiarity with MBS Billing Schedule
- Cultural awareness and knowledge of priority population groups
- Ability to efficiently schedule and manage appointments, taking into account the availability of healthcare providers and patient needs
- Accurate data entry and attention to detail when recording patient information, managing paperwork, and handling medical records
- Experience in Community Health highly regarded

**A bit about you**

You know the importance of boundaries, frameworks and clinical governance, but are an active listener and tailor your support and approach to the needs of each specific patient.

You can keep lots of plates spinning and move from Medicare billing to appointment setting to coordinating scripts with local pharmacies in the blink of an eye.

You’ve got experience working in healthcare or community health, which means you bring a mix of best practices and responsive thinking to help us provide high-impact support without judgement

There is the possibility that you’ve have had lived experience with AOD, homelessness or other things life has thrown at you, or not, but you know this doesn’t define you.

**A bit about us**

The Living Room is a primary health service, the team works with people aged 18+ to provide free healthcare and support to improve the physical, mental and social well-being of individuals who are, or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

The only service of its kind in Melbourne, focuses on the social determinants of health to look beyond disease or illness, to see a person's overall situation. Our multi-disciplinary team works with individuals to identify goals and focus on harm minimisation, self-determination, and empowerment.

We are a non-judgemental service with a strong focus on respect, client centred care and harm prevention. We work with clients on a personalised, tailored basis to address highly complex issues faced by people experiencing multiple and complex needs.

Youth Projects is an independent, registered charity providing front line support to young people and individuals experiencing disadvantage, unemployment, homelessness, alcohol and other drug issues. We recognise the complex and varying needs of the people we work with and go above and beyond, 365 days a year, to provide pathways out of poverty.
