**About the role**

Reporting to the General Manager Major Projects, this role will develop and drive the HSE strategic direction for the division and will lead & support a team of HSE professionals in delivering safe, environmentally and quality outcomes through partnering with the business.
- Provide advice to support the Projects Division, specifically the Major Projects business unit in driving improvements in HSE performance & to maintain a safe workplace
- Develop, promote and implement a safe culture and programs for the business, including the UGL ONE HSE Culture Framework
- Monitor and review the HSE risk profile of contracts and projects to identify areas of improvement and strengthening, including pre-mobilisation audits/reviews
- Establish and ensure implementation of the HSE Management System on all phases (concept design, development, construction, commissioning up to operate & completion) of the project.
- Responsible for ensuring governance processes are implemented to assist Management
- Foster a culture of inclusion, responsiveness, honesty and accountability with multiple stakeholders

**About You**
- Proven experience in operating in a HSE leadership role with relevant qualifications
- Lead Auditing and incident investigation qualifications (preferably ICAM)
- Knowledge of the OH&S, Environment and Workers Compensation legislation
- Thorough knowledge of AS 4801, ISO 9001/14001, ISO31000
- Track record in leading HSE improvements.
- Must have an Australian Drivers Licence
- Minimum 10yrs HSE experience on Multi Million Dollar Rail, Road or Civil Infrastructure Projects.
- Ability to manage multiple competing stakeholder demands in a time critical environment
- Ability to collaborate as part of a supportive high-performing team - providing mentoring and coaching to individuals
