Our opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a National HSE Manager to join our Sydney team. You will provide operational technical HSE leadership, direction, coaching and support to the IIP business as well as support development and implementation of the Mirvac HSE strategy and plays a lead role in the development and implementation of the IIP HSE strategy. The National (IIP) HSE Manager plays an active and collaborative role in the management and control of known, new and novel hazards and psychosocial risks and plays a leadership and coaching role to the IIP HSE Team.
**Your responsibilities are but not limited to**:
Participate in the development and implementation of Mirvac’s HSE strategy.
Plays a lead role in development and implementation of the IIP HSE strategy
In partnership with stakeholders, including the technical operations team, play a lead role in the development and operationalising of proactive risk-based major hazard (known, new & novel) controls and Physical & psychosocial risk programs.
Provide input into strategy progress updates to the ELT, HSE&S Management and Board-sub-Committee.
Invest time to proactively engage with and coach direct reports and create a collaborative work environment.
Provide leadership, coaching, counsel, and technical advice to the IIP portfolio leadership and broader work teams
Foster partnerships with government and industry champions to drive innovation and develop practical solutions for known, new and novel hazards.
Attend and proactively participate in regular Mirvac HSE meetings.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive active HSE engagement and curiosity.
Lead development and execution of the annual IIP HSE audit program, including collaborative annual ‘fit-for-purpose’ and audit quality review, drive leadership & asset pre & close-out meeting engagement, audit report-out quality, and corrective action follow-up.
Lead and monitor implementation of the Mirvac HSE Management System.
Monitor legislative change relevant to the business unit and disseminate this information through monthly reporting and other workplace consultative arrangements.
Act as lead and point of contact prior to escalating to senior management for major HSE related incident investigations. Issue preliminary reports within 24hrs and preliminary lessons learned within seven business days. Timely completion of incident investigations including root-cause identification and development and implementation of corrective actions including dissemination of lessons learned, safety alerts, etc.
Assist with the preparation of HSE reports for Health Safety Environment and Sustainability Management Committee meetings, and where required for the ELT, Board, etc.
Monitor HSE performance against objectives and targets and benchmark performance and establish programs to address areas where performance is off-track.
Your point of difference
To be successful you will have relevant tertiary level qualifications in HSE, industry experience and expertise in leading teams.
Demonstrated track record in driving HSE performance improvement and business engagement, ability to manage and lead a high performance and outcomes-oriented team of professionals. and proactive and self-motivated approach is essential
Finally, you will have the ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organization, excellent self-presentation and calm, professional attitude with strong communication skills.
