**About the role**

As the People Business Partner, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s People, Safety, Sustainability & Risk function.

In this role you will play a crucial role in aligning the workforce with the organisation’s strategic goals. You will support leaders in identifying workforce needs, addressing talent gaps, and planning for succession to ensure a robust and future-ready team. You will collaborate across the newly formed People, Safety, Sustainability & Risk function to achieve the best solutions for people-related issues.

Key Accountabilities include:

- Support the Lead People Business Partner and managers in identifying workforce needs, addressing talent gaps, and planning for succession.
- Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, ensuring legal compliance and a positive work environment.
- Guide leaders on performance management, including reviews, coaching, and feedback.
- Provide support during organisational changes to keep employees engaged and aligned with new objectives.
- Analyse People Team data to offer insights on workforce effectiveness, engagement, and development needs.
- Drive and support organisational policies and programs, championing change and continuous improvement.
- Work in a large, fast-paced and multi-faceted organisation across CBD and Regional locations.

**About You**

You are highly adaptable and thrive in dynamic environments. You excel at building strong relationships and influencing a wide range of stakeholders at all levels within the organisation. You are confident with managing complex and sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality, ensuring that all parties feel respected and supported.
- Previous experience in a similar role, within a large and complex organisation
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
- Strategic thinking and excellent problem-solving skills to resolve complex people issues
- Commitment to continuous improvement and experience in implementing change initiatives within an organisation
- Exposure to an industrial environment and/or experience with a front-line workforce (desirable)
- Mercer Job Evaluation accreditation (desirable)
