Your new organisation

This Local Government organisation is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis. With offices removed from the CBD and a supportive and flexible team environment, this organisation presents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced procurement professional.

Your new role

Reporting to the Financial manager, this position is responsible for delivering optimal value for money and quality advice, you will be involved in all procurement activities for the organisation at a minimum total of $22 million a year. Key responsibilities of this role include:

- Review and update of purchasing policy and tender guidelines
- Establishment of procurement practices and provision of advice to internal stakeholders
- Monitoring of purchasing activities
- Procurement research and analysis
- Delivery of enhanced procurement practices to improve sustainable and realisable value
- Maintenance and development of the Contract Management Framework
- Contract negotiations
- Review and negotiate contracts and legal agreements
- Maintenance of the contract register
- Staff management and mentoring
- Provision of expert and strategic advice on procurement and contract matters

What you’ll need to succeed
- Substantial experience in procurement and contract management
- Experience in the preparation and review of terms and conditions and management of tenders and contracts.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
