**About the Role**

Victoria University (VU) TAFE is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Casual Professional—Stores Assistant to support the Hospitality, Tourism & Events department. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a safe, secure, and well-organised learning environment for students and staff.

An example of duties you will perform include:

- Planning, preparing, and maintaining all teaching and training spaces to uphold high standards of cleanliness, organization, and functionality.
- Managing stock control, including inventory tracking, stock takes, and ensuring discrepancies are reported.
- Overseeing the secure receiving, storage, and allocation of consumables, equipment, crockery, and cutlery, prior to, during and after classes.
- Supporting the execution of functions and events, both on-site at VenU and offsite, where required.
- Maintain an efficient store area in compliance with the Health Act (Food Act 1984) and Occupational Health and Safety regulations (i.e. fridges, cool room, freezer, dry store, equipment stores, and delivery receivables area) maintain a safe, secure and efficient stores areas, utilising a computer-based stock control and ordering system.

**About You**

You will have strong organisational skills and great attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in stock control and store management. Your ability to communicate smoothly with stakeholders will allow you to excel in this role, ensuring effective collaboration with teaching staff, students, and suppliers.

A team player, they will work collaboratively to maintain a safe, secure, and well-managed store area while ensuring compliance with food safety and OH&S regulations. Your experience using stock control databases, preferably ‘Cooking the Books’ or ‘Zero’, combined with Hygiene and Food Handling certifications will be highly regarded. You will have a valid Employee Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing in this role. You will hold an Australian Drivers licence.
