**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) has an exciting opportunity for a talented Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Training Officer (Parliamentary Service Level 6) to play a fundamental role in supporting the adoption of digital solutions and enhancing the technical capabilities of ICT users across the Australian Parliament.
The department’s Information Services Division is driving a digital business modernisation and transformation agenda for the Australian Parliament through the Australian Parliament’s Digital Strategy 2023-2027. The ICT Training Officer is a key member of a small professional development team, dedicated to facilitating training services for essential technology platforms and business solutions.
The role involves coordinating and delivering a variety of high-quality ICT training products, services, and initiatives for parliamentarians, personal and electorate office staff, and employees of parliamentary departments.
**Who we are looking for**:
**Job Specific Requirements**
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.
- A degree or diploma from an Australian tertiary institution (or comparable overseas qualification) in Adult Learning, Instructional Design or a related discipline is desirable, but not essential.
- Experience in a customer-focused learning and development role, designing, developing and delivering training using a variety of delivery mechanisms (particularly in a Government context) will be considered highly desirable.
- Knowledge of, and experience working with Microsoft SharePoint, TechSmith Camtasia Studio, Adobe Photoshop, the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents) and demonstrated ability with scripting/coding languages (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) is desirable, but not essential.
- The successful applicant may be required to periodically travel interstate for short periods of time.

**Immediate supervisor**:ICT Training Manager
Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to conduct training needs analyses and design, develop and deliver ICT training strategies and solutions (in accordance with contemporary adult learning principles) that meet client training needs and achieve intended corporate outcomes.
- Manage third-party ICT training course booking and delivery for parliamentarians and MOP(S) Act employees. Work with external training providers to coordinate course registration and manage rescheduling/cancellation requests as required.
- Monitor the impact of implemented ICT training strategies and solutions, report on their effectiveness and identify innovative operational solutions (incorporating new digital technologies, where relevant) to better achieve corporate outcomes and client training needs.
- Effectively represent DPS, promoting DPS’ and DPS’ clients’ interests at internal and external meetings and forums.
- Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._
