**Your Role**

Your role supports the EM, Investment Strategy & Internal Asset Management by balancing return, balance sheet, and capital expense objectives. It involves developing a data-driven approach to Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) to maximize portfolio returns while minimizing capital requirements and managing liquidity risk. The SAA, combined with Asset Liability Management (ALM), ensures efficient hedging of insurance liabilities, crucial for meeting IAG’s commitments. Key responsibilities include partnering with the CIO team and stakeholders to develop ALM tools, leading portfolio management tool development, and supporting Portfolio Managers. The role also focuses on risk-efficient portfolio management, stakeholder communication, and compliance with policies.

This is a permanent full
- time role where you’ll be based out of Gadigal Country (Sydney).

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

- Industry-recognized expertise in SAA, ALM, and hedging approaches (e.g., publishing, speaking engagements).
- Experience with advanced mathematical techniques (e.g., machine learning, distribution bootstrapping) for risk management and SAA development.
- Quantitative portfolio management experience, including optimization tool development.
- Development of quantitative tools for trading and capital management.
- Experience in risk system integration/decommissioning.
- 5+ years in asset management, preferably with bank experience managing P&L and risk limits.
- Experience with non-mark-to-market risk impacts and risk-adjusted benchmarking.
- 10+ years in SQL, Python, R, Matlab,.NET, C++, Excel VBA.
- 5+ years managing people and improving engagement scores.
