Exciting role to join an industry leader in supporting project direction, strategy and bids

**Your new company**

An exciting position to join a company who programs and projects to develop products and decision support systems for the protection of military and civilian personnel against chemical, biological and radiological threats, emerging infectious diseases and pandemics. This exciting role will look at existing programme managers or senior project managers looking to take their next step.

**Your new role**

You will provide leadership and project management oversight of the research and development (R&D) for the program, deliver on key aspects of portfolio management, provide guidance and instruction on project direction and focus, and play a role in business development strategy and bids. The project will have a group of engineers and external engineers reporting into you. Managing multiple projects on a day-to-day basis, including the facilitation of project agreements, initiation of new projects, monitoring project progress and managing collaborative project teams
- Key focus on delivering budget on time and within scope for a portfolio of projects
- Report on project progress, budget and risks to senior management as required
- Analytic strategic thinking / problem-solving
- Negotiate project agreements

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Qualifications in Chemical / biological / engineering or relevant - relevant experience required.
- Experience in management of collaborative / multi-party, research and development projects is preferred
- Experience in portfolio management, including risk/issues evaluation and management, project planning/scheduling and portfolio budget preparation, monitoring and reporting
- Strong facilitation and influencing skills in a respectful manner
- Ability to identify issues and find solutions or escalate appropriately
- Ability to obtain or have Security Clearance: NV1 or above.
- Australian citizen
