**The Venue**

Welcome to **Poetica Bar & Grill**, where fire, wood, and charcoal ignite more than just our hearth—they fuel our passion for exceptional food and unforgettable hospitality. Nestled in the heart of North Sydney, Poetica is a contemporary bar and grill that blends sophistication with laid-back charm.

Since opening in **September 2023**, we’ve made waves—earning **rave reviews** and securing a **One Hat from the Good Food Guide** within our first few weeks.

Step inside and you’ll find a **light-filled, 120-seat space** boasting a jaw-dropping **700-bottle wine wall**, **glass-fronted dry-aging cabinets**, and a **15-metre open kitchen** showcasing a **Josper charcoal oven** and **custom-built wood-burning hearth**—a true theatre of fire and flavour.

**The Role**

**Venue Manager & Licensee.**We're on the hunt for a **dynamic Venue Manager & Licensee** to launch and lead our** Poetica team**:

- who**knows how to bring the energy, professionalism, and passion that keeps teams inspired and guests coming back for more.

You’ll own the guest experience from the ground up, build a high-performing team, and drive performance across every facet of the venue—from service to sales, compliance to culture.

**What You’ll Bring to the Table**
- A **natural leader** with a people-first mindset—both for the team you lead and the guests you host.
- An ability to **craft exceptional guest experiences** that are memorable, meaningful, and worth sharing.
- A passion for food and wine, with the confidence to guide the floor and enhance the dining journey.
- A flair for operations—**financial acumen, rostering, stock control**, and **KPI ownership** are second nature.
- The flexibility and curiosity of a true all-rounder—you’ll collaborate with chefs, event planners, and the wider precinct team to constantly evolve our offering.
- A strong grip on **compliance**, including Health, Safety & Environment, Risk Management, and Liquor Licensing.

**Day-to-Day Responsibilities**
- Lead and inspire the **Front of House team**: recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing mentoring.
- Curate and elevate the guest experience, building loyalty and positioning the venue as a go-to destination.
- Work closely with Reservations and Events to design smart floor plans and optimise service flow.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop seasonal à la carte and event menus that shine.
- Manage labour costs, service quality, and stock controls to meet business goals.
- Grow our community of locals and regulars, nurturing lasting relationships and meaningful moments.
