**About the position**:
We are seeking a Property Transaction Specialist** **with strong attention to detail, a can-do attitude and a passion for leadership and results to fill a vital role within Council’s Property Services team.
In this role you will balance the provision of high-level technical advice and support to the team with the responsibility for managing and completing complex property matters and projects. This includes the processing of land disposals, acquisitions, road closures and special projects in line with our corporate plan projections and statutory requirements. You will provide expert advice to the organisation in relation to a range of property matters including due diligence on parcels, legislative requirements, conveyancing, road matters along with high level advice around Council’s property portfolio.
This role involves technical advice from a property perspective in respect of Council’s significant property portfolio to influence decision making, to communicate with stakeholders and to ensure best practice and best outcome in relation to Council’s land holdings. You will lead a small team of technical property experts to maintain the high level of technical service provided to stakeholders and management ensuring the best results for Council and the community. In this role you will lead property transactions, projects and provide technical advice to be incorporated into reports to management and Council reports to ensure property matters are progressed to a high standard within project timeframes.
This role requires technical skills in property along with interpreting and implementing legislative requirements, undertaking due diligence on property parcels, drafting and reviewing agreements/contracts, reviewing deposited plans, town plans, gazettal notices, property valuations and historical property related documentation. This role will also involve travelling to site inspections on occasion and consulting and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
- Have strong property knowledge and be ready to jump in and develop your skills in property in a local government context.
- Have sufficient technical skills to interpret and implement legislation, property plans, contractual documents and undertake research.
- Be an analytical thinker, specifically in producing and analysing reports, contracts, policies, procedures and relevant legislation with a strong attention to detail.
- Have strong leadership skills to support and motivate a small team, prioritise work and projects and strive for extraordinary results for the organisation.
- Have strong communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to suit the audience (team members, members of the community, members of the organisation).
- Be resilient, motivated and enthusiastic with the required drive to strive for results and improvement.
