The Information Regulation team are part of Information Governance Services which administer key elements of the University’s regulatory framework and are responsible for ensuring good information governance practices are embedded in behaviours, systems and processes across the University. The Information Regulation team administer compliance with freedom of information (FOI) and privacy and data protection legislation, and the University’s regulatory frameworks (policy and process).
**About the Role**
The Information Regulation Officer supports activities that enhance information governance and business efficiency and ensure organisational compliance. Reporting to the Information Regulation Manager, you will provide administrative and other support for functions related to FOI, privacy and data protection, and policy and process. This includes creating self-service tools and resources, as well as compiling reports.
Responsibilities include:
- Administering the University’s policy and process frameworks by providing advice to staff across the organisation on the operation of the frameworks and on policy and process development and continuous improvement.
- Supporting the provision of expert advice about compliance with FOI and related legislation and assisting in the administration and case management of FOI requests.
- Supporting the development, publishing and maintenance of tools to enhance the delivery of privacy and data protection services and advice, including administering and supporting the Privacy Impact Assessment tool and related processes.
- Contribute to a program of continuous improvement for the policy and process, privacy and data protection, and FOI functions to ensure that the frameworks and supporting tools continue to meet organisational needs and support effective and efficient service delivery.
**About You**
To excel in this role, you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to establish effective and trustworthy relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally, at all levels. Effective organisational and time-management skills are also essential for success, with the ability to work flexibly under pressure, manage competing demands, and prioritise workload to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and extensive experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
- Knowledge and understanding of the University, its policies, procedures and business processes.
- Business analysis skills and a demonstrated ability to undertake business process improvement activities.
