**About the Contact Centre Branch**
The Contact Centre Branch (CCB) provides exceptional support to Workforce Australia Online participants, employers, students, and members of the public.
The CCB works cohesively to achieve the strategic direction of the department and of the Australian Public Service (APS) with staff expected to drive innovation, cultivate a culture of service delivery excellence and demonstrate personal drive and integrity.

**The Role**
You must be capable of delivering outcomes in a rapidly changing landscape and possess the following skills and attributes:
- Promote a positive, personalised and strengths-based approach to career development, job seeking and educational attainment.
- Provide vocational assistance to people facing barriers to work and study.
- Use strengths-based approaches to people reach their work and study goals.
- Work within a small and collaborative team to deliver career counselling services tailored to meet a person’s specific needs/circumstances.
- Deliver vocational interventions aimed at minimising the impact of mental health challenges on a persons engagement with work and study, building resilience and enabling recovery.
- Collaborate, communicate and provide advice to/from a range of external stakeholders (educational institutions, employment agencies and employers) to assist people to identify and achieve education and/or employment outcomes.
You will:
- Be expected to perform and behave in accordance with the requirements set out for an APS 6 officer in the Australian Public Service Commission’s Integrated Leadership System and Work Level Standards.
- Be required to undertake tasks of moderate complexity and work under the general direction of an Executive Level 1 Career Counselling Lead.
- Be accountable for organising your workflow and making decisions within defined parameters.
- Provide support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge in specific areas and may undertake some research and analysis activities.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
As an APS 6, your duties will include:
- Undertaking research and analysis to assist in the development of career coaching resources and training for APS4 Career Support Officers.
- Demonstrating a high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in a multicultural learning environment.
- Proposing innovative initiatives and contributing to business improvement strategies or positive change in workplace practices.
- Organising, administering and maintaining customer records.
- Delivering relevant and engaging curriculum related to careers and future pathways specific to employment scenarios which are relevant to people’s goals and circumstances.
- Completing priorities for the work area, maintaining team cohesion, and ensuring high quality outputs.
- Implementing work plans for the work area: managing and completing workflow, tasks and priorities.
- Contributing to capability building within the team environment through coaching and/or mentoring others, building team capacity through coaching and encouraging career development.
- Preparing complex and/or sensitive correspondence/documentation such as reports, submissions, proposal papers and case notes.
