Engineering Manager

**Eucalyptus **(or 'Euc' for short) is a healthcare technology organisation on a mission to deliver high-touch, high-quality care to millions of patients. **Who we're looking for**

You are an Engineering Manager with a proven track record of leading high performing engineering teams to deliver outstanding products.

You are passionate about driving and enabling Eucalyptus's vision of providing a 10x mobile experience for patients through our mobile engineering team.

You are passionate about designing effective teams, developing people, and balancing excellence and an MVP mindset.

**As an Engineering Manager at Eucalyptus, you will**:

- **Grow individuals**: You'll be a strong coach to engineers and your management peers, bringing a culture of feedback and fostering an environment where individuals thrive. You'll also be accountable for performance management.
- **Grow the team**: You'll be involved in designing and evolving an effective engineering team. This includes hiring high quality engineers and understanding resourcing needs as we grow. You value nurturing an inclusive and diverse team.
- **Drive and execute outcomes**: You'll strive towards the team's mission with driven engineers, and ensure that we get the best outcomes of that team. This includes facilitating agile rituals, and prioritising the roadmap and sprints.
- **Lead and inspire**: You'll work closely with the CTO, other engineering leads and product teams to drive the vision and strategy for your team at a sprint and roadmap level, and also contribute to the wider engineering culture.

**Experience required**:
**About you**:

- **Engineering manager experience**: You have managed a team of engineers and are effective at performance management of your reports. You have experience managing competing priorities across new features, iterative improvement, and tech/operational debt, and scalability.
- **Cross team collaboration**: You've worked with product managers, product designers and other business teams to arrive to great outcomes.
- **Passionate and pragmatic leader**: You're passionate about inspiring and leading teams so that they understand what we're doing and why. You thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment where you have to balance velocity of decision making, quality, and having a MVP mindset.
- **Technical background**: You have prior experience working on technically complex problems as a full-stack senior engineer and you are comfortable contributing to technical specifications and performing thorough code reviews. Prior experience with NodeJS, React, and / or React Native is a plus.
