**Salary Classification**: Nurse Unit Manager, level 1.
**Remuneration**: $64.09 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's
**THE ROLE**:
Calvary Mater Newcastle (CMN) is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager, Level 1 (NUM1) The Nursing Unit Manager is responsible for the daily leadership of the perioperative team to provide a safe, appropriate and patient focused service.
**DUTIES**:
Accountable for the efficient and effective daily management of the Operating Suite.
Ensures service provision, patient assessment, care planning, discharge and continuing management is in accordance with professional standards and legislative requirements.
Exercise advanced clinical judgement, critical thinking and ethical decision making processes in the delivery and co-ordination of nursing care integrating evidence from relevant information systems and incorporating risk assessment within the specialty.
Review clinical indicators regarding the quality of the service in accordance with the NSW Health Framework.
Co-ordinate the care of patients with complex conditions
Co-ordinates quality improvement activities as required.

**ABOUT YOU**:
Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Recent experience in managing teams and coordinating the care of patients with complex conditions.
Evidence of continued tertiary education in the Perioperative environment.
Commitment to customer service with proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated computer literacy.
Focus on service excellence through the ability to manage situations impacting on achievement of service delivery outcomes.
Able to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
