Our client is a leading charitable and community driven organisation that aims to be the leading provider of first aid training, services and products in Australia.

**Your new role**

Due to growth within the business our client is seeking a stand-alone Privacy Officer to join their legal area on full time permanent basis. The Privacy Officer is responsible for ensuring the organisation complies with all applicable privacy laws and regulations. The officer will manage, implement and monitor compliance with organisational privacy policies and procedures and provide advice and training on privacy-related matters.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Expert knowledge of the Privacy Act, Australian Privacy Principles and OAIC guidance.
- Extensive experience in privacy advice, privacy compliance frameworks, PIAs and privacy documents.
- Experience in operationalising and reviewing privacy compliance programs.
- Strong stakeholder management experience; including confidence in dealing with and assisting senior management.
- Experience in identifying, assessing and articulating privacy risks (including likelihood and impact) to enable the organisation to make informed, risk-based commercial decisions.
- Proven experience managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines, as well as end-to-end projects throughout their entire lifecycle from inception, delivery to monitoring and tracking.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and diplomacy.

Desirable Criteria:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as law, business, or information technology.
- 2-5 years of experience in privacy or a related field.
- Desirable: Legal qualification and experience (ideally with a speciality in privacy, technology or commercial law).
- Desirable: Experience working in a governance and compliance environment.

**What you'll get in return**

This is full time permanent role working with an experienced Legal team. On offer is an annual salary $95k - $125k + salary packaging (salaries can be negotiated depending on experience).
