The Office of the Information Commissioner WA — Opportunities

The new Office of the Information Commissioner WA (OIC) is an independent oversight and regulatory body established to empower Western Australians to know and exercise their privacy and information access rights. The OIC is the regulator and source of independent advice on how the public sector handles personal and government information.

The Office is established under the Information Commissioner Act 2024 (WA) (IC Act). The Commissioner will be supported by the Privacy Deputy Commissioner and Information Access Deputy Commissioner, to oversee privacy and freedom of information (FOI) matters in Western Australia.

About the Opportunities

The OIC needs innovative and motivated professionals to meet the needs of WA citizens and regulated entities. You will work to develop processes and policy, communicate effectively, and support decision-making in privacy and information access.

In 2025 the OIC has multiple permanent and fixed-term positions to be filled. This is the first recruitment stage as we establish our new privacy functions and continue to build on our strengths in freedom of information.

Eligibility

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the Western Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
