With a vision & plan to build a best in class procurement team across the business in its entirety, a requirement has been identified for a thought leader & business partner to join our high achieving Procurement function. This position is a critical role at the nucleus of a dramatic change & evolution, taking place across McCain Foods globally.
The role will contribute and lead the development and execution of both local (occasionally regional) buying strategies and the sourcing strategy for the segments to deliver sustainable cost savings programs for the business.
**About the Role**
- Own the sourcing and contracting strategy for all categories including market and industry analysis, category and supplier segmentation, sourcing activities, analysis, negotiations, contracting and implementation
- Provide deep category insights and expertise through understanding of costs, cost drivers, market, industry and supplier variables
- Drive initiatives focusing on overall cost optimisation
- Establish ongoing communication and process to ensure high levels of stakeholder engagement, participation and satisfaction
- Lead, control and drive improvement in the sourcing processes for respective category areas in order to capitalize on opportunities, drive productivity, and deliver quality and service requirements for all business stakeholders
- Manage supplier relationships to encourage innovation and maximize value contributions to McCain through effective sourcing and contracting processes
- Responsible for leading discussions with critical suppliers around long-term objectives and strategies, performance management ongoing market trends, innovation and technology advances
- Work closely with finance stakeholders to manage budgets for respective category areas and incorporate contractual commitments
**About You**
- Demonstrated buying experience with accountability for large spend
- Industry experience has ideally been gained in the fast moving consumer goods industry
- Solid experience in sourcing on a Global/Regional basis or multi-country level
- Competency in analyzing information, excellent attention to detail - ensuring accuracy in every step and problem solving
- Proven track record of successfully influencing and/or influencing change within a business
- Have the intellect and drive people skills and business acumen to succeed in a fast paced, high performance environment and will be self-motivated.
