The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.
With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
**The Opportunity**
The M6 Stage 1 project is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join their M&E team. Reporting to the Mechanical Superintendent, This role is primarily leading site productivity and ensuring compliance for mechanical installations of various tunnel scopes.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Manage day-to-day performance and development of employees, including effective coaching and mentoring.
- Monitor, direct, and liaise with subcontractors to ensure and maintain program targets.
- Ensure subcontractors have adequate supervision and resources to plan and complete work on time.
- Conduct daily pre-start and weekly toolbox meetings.
- Lead and participate in scheduled site safety walks and address any items to rectify issues or improve site safety.
- Assist in developing and monitoring programs and forecasts.
- Ensure mechanical scope of work is completed in accordance with specifications, quality, safety, productivity and site standards.
- Organise and supervise the placement of materials, plant and equipment required ensuring unobstructed access and progress to activities.
**About You**
- Relevant Trade Qualification / Supervisor qualifications.
- Holder of an NSW driver’s license.
- Demonstrated experience working on major infrastructure construction projects.
- Experience working in underground environments.
- Installation experience of tunnel Fire suppression, MVAC, Jet fans & Fire detection preferred.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors at different phases of a project.
- Experience complying with and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Sound knowledge and experience using computer programs such as MS Excel and Word.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.
