About the role

As the Mechanical Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of TBM operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Building strong working relationships with subcontractors, employees, and external stakeholders, including union representatives.
  • Ensuring all works meet required quality, safety and environmental standards.
  • Acting as a visible leader on site through site walks, team engagement, and issue resolution.
  • Supervising and scheduling mechanical maintenance activities for TBMs, ensuring operational compliance and safety.
  • Assisting with work program planning, monitoring progress, and allocating resources effectively.
  • Planning and delivering TBM routine maintenance.
  • Ensuring staff are inducted, trained, and compliant with Safe Work Method Statements.
  • Leading pre-start meetings and toolbox talks focused on safety management and upcoming activities.
Your skills and experience
  • Proven supervisory experience on major Tier 1 projects, with specific TBM experience.
  • A recognised Mechanical trade qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a high-performing team.
  • Strong understanding of programme management, deadlines, and budget control.
  • A commitment to driving a positive safety first culture.

Construction includes the delivery of 9 kilometers of twin, metro rail tunnels between Westmead and Sydney Olympic Park; excavation of new station boxes at Westmead and Parramatta; earthworks, utilities and connecting tunnels for a Maintenance and Stabling Facility at Clyde; a precast concrete segment factory at Eastern Creek; and a services facility, crossover structure and excavation to support tunnelling operations at Rosehill.
