Your opportunity:
Our Integrated Operations Planning team is looking for an experienced Operations Planner/Scheduler to join their team. This position reports to the Integrated Operations Planning Leader and is part of a collaborative team focused on delivering safe, reliable, and customer-focused water services.
As part of the Network Services Group, the Advanced Operations Specialist plays a key role in optimising the performance of Urban Utilities’ water and wastewater networks, servicing over 1.3 million customers. This role supports the Integrated Operations Planning (IOP) process, which ensures efficient scheduling, reduces service risk, and minimises customer impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the Integrated Operations Planning (IOP) process to coordinate and optimise network activities.- Identify and resolve technical and engineering issues to prevent service disruptions and performance loss.- Drive continuous improvement of planning processes, systems, and technologies.- Coach and mentor technical officers and junior engineers to build team capability.- Enhance visibility of planned work, address readiness gaps, and optimise scheduling.- Contribute to standardising and automating planning approaches to manage network risk effectively.
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Achievement of operational and maintenance performance targets.- Implementation of improvements that enhance team and process efficiency.- Expansion and sharing of technical knowledge across the team.- Delivery of effective engineering solutions that support long-term network performance.
About you:
- Extensive experience with relevant technical certification.- Good understanding of Operations and Regulatory frameworks- Proven ability to manage operational planning and network access.- Strong communicator, able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.- Experience or interest in data science, automation, or risk management.- Agile and adaptable, with strong prioritisation and problem-solving skills.- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing team capability.- Collaborative, customer-focused, and values-driven with a strategic mindset.- Comfortable working across multiple portfolios and with complex data.- Experience with Primavera is desirable
