Domestic Assistant/cleaner

**CLEANER**

**Key Responsibilities/Duties**

The employee will be responsible for keeping participants homes in clean and orderly condition, and will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, cleaning and stocking restrooms, washing walls, glass, and upholstered furniture, and removing rubbish. Duties may include notifying management of the need for repairs.

**An employee at this level must be capable of performing work, but not limited to, the following**:
▪ Vacuuming carpets, curtains, and upholstered furniture

▪ Sweeping, mopping, waxing, and polishing tiled, vinyl, timber, and concrete floors

▪ Tidying rooms, emptying wastepaper bins, and removing refuse and recyclable material

▪ Cleaning, disinfecting and deodorising kitchens, bathrooms, and toilets

▪ Dusting, cleaning and polishing furniture and other homewares

▪ Cleaning windows and other glass surfaces

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
▪ Current WWCC and Criminal Record Check

▪ First Aid Certificate (preferred)

▪ Infection Control certificate

▪ NDIS worker orientation program

▪ Current Qld Driver’s License

▪ At a minimum, a CTP insured vehicle that is reliable and roadworthy

▪ Smart phone

▪ Willingness to travel

▪ Minimum 1 years’ experience in domestic cleaning

▪ Experience working with people with disability

▪ Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

▪ Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets

▪ Ability to speak English fluently

▪ Ability to build rapport and trust with clients

▪ Strong time management skills and able to prioritise tasks

▪ Reliable and punctual with a dedicated professionalism to job and duties

▪ Exhibit initiative, responsibility, and flexibility

Team members must carry out all reasonable lawful instructions to the highest level of the team members’ skill, competence and training. Team members are not required to take on any work that is dangerous.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Subcontract, Casual
Part-time hours: 16 per week

**Salary**: $27.35 - $32.93 per hour
