**Full Time Permanent Position**

**Salary Range $86,169 - $93,835 per annum + 10.5% Super + RDO**

**The Opportunity**

Council is seeking a motivated and versatile practitioner to assume the role of Place Engagement and Activation Officer. This is an exciting, ongoing, hands-on opportunity to help make a meaningful difference for the ongoing growth and prosperity of business precincts in one of Australia’s fastest growing communities.

**Key Responsibilities**

Working within the Economic Development and Tourism team, the Place Engagement and Activation Officer will be responsible for the delivery of place-based initiatives to help support the activation, functionality and revitalisation of retail, commercial and industrial precincts across the municipality.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Implementing and delivering quality, timely and coordinated place-making and place activation initiatives as part of Council’s economic development strategy.
- Engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders and build relationships to support growth in local capacity and offer advice and guidance on Council-led and State Government projects.
- Planning and delivering projects that activate public spaces within the City of Melton to develop safe, vibrant, and welcoming spaces that contribute to a positive experience.
- Being a champion for the revitalisation of the city centre and neighbourhood precincts and the Place Activation Program in general.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related discipline with relevant work experience.
- A sound knowledge and understanding of place management, stakeholder engagement, economic development, visitation patterns and urban planning. principles and processes within a local government context.
- Proven ability to develop, implement and monitor place making programs and projects.
- Demonstrated skills in working collaboratively through networks and partnerships to develop and facilitate creative and innovative solutions.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
