**Your role**

Manage relationships and partnerships that connect with Aboriginal communities to improve communication and access to services for clients. The role designs and delivers programs that assist Aboriginal communities to access services and develop staff skills to become more confident and aware of the needs of our Aboriginal community. This role is committed to building a workforce that better reflects the perspectives of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities we serve.

**What you’ll do**

The role will implement district workforce initiatives to increase Indigenous employment by oversee the dissemination of information to Indigenous community members and management were

relevant.

The role works in areas where there is a large number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations and is required to work with the community in order to strengthen those existing relationships and partnerships, so that we can connect with our communities in a culturally sensitive manner which sees an improved communication process and ensures appropriate access to services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.

**What we’re looking for**
- Demonstrated capability to consult with manager or senior staff on a suitable course of action in matters that are sensitive, high-risk or business-critical, or for those issues that have far reaching implications with respect to resources or quality advice provision.
- Demonstrated capability in prioritising demanding workloads, provision advice and recommendations as well as delivering input into the development of relevant systems and frameworks as well as team planning and projects.
- Ability to undertake aspects of contracting, tendering and capital works programs including the preparation of budget estimates and performance reporting.
- Ability to Liaise and work across DCJ Divisions and non-government stakeholders to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and policy implementation.

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Demonstrated project management experience and tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Highly desirable skills include: Sound judgement; sophisticated communication and negotiation skills; ability to work in tight timeframes; experience in program design, management, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
- Demonstrated cultural capability, which includes lived experience, knowledge and understanding of contemporary social issues affecting Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people, including skills in identifying and/or responding to the diverse needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experiencing significant trauma and disadvantage.
- Experience in building community consultation and engagement to increase access to services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Experience in developing, implementing and administering policies, services or programs that are focused on positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Experience in developing staff awareness and skills to work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
