In a practice that is growing, you will be part of Hatch’s global Environmental and Sustainability CESP Practice that collaborates with clients, communities, stakeholders, and Hatch’s engineering teams to create mutually beneficial and sustainable metals, energy, and infrastructure projects. Hatch is currently seeking to recruit a Principal Adviser, CESP to be an integral part of a growing practice. Reporting to the Director, CESP you will be the technical CESP expert responsible for leading projects across Australia and Asia with opportunities to also participate on global initiatives. In this role, you will:

- Deliver strategic CESP advisory support and capacity building, developing stakeholder engagement strategies and plans, community engagement and consultation, community development, local employment and procurement and social investment services.
- Provide CESP technical expertise and manage multi-disciplinary project teams throughout the life cycle of client projects from exploration, to project development, operations, and closure.
- Undertake CESP project management tasks on behalf of clients.
- Record, research, identify and anticipate any social risks to project development, including solutions to meet these challenges.
- Assist resource or infrastructure companies as they deliver upon their socioeconomic commitments and develop plans to meet industry best practice.
- Assist clients through consultation required for socioeconomic and environmental assessments.
- Develop social performance and impact management plans to meet compliance with regulatory approvals.
- Identify client opportunities with project managers across the Hatch organisation and externally.
- Share your experiences with colleagues and clients at speaking events, networking events, conferences, webinars and through online blog posts.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Degree qualified in anthropology, social sciences, public policy, sustainability, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years’ CESP consulting experience across the project lifecycle on major projects ideally with experience in complex cultural and socio-political environments.
- Expertise in CESP technical planning, program design and execution.
- Hatch seeks to build complementary skills across the team demonstrating comprehensive CESP practical and advisory experience. Applicants will need to demonstrate practical experience in some of the below areas:

- Stakeholder engagement - Indigenous relations, community and stakeholder mapping and engagement and conflict resolution. Participative engagement and co-design experience
- Place-based, regional, and economic development and community development and social investment
- Monitoring and evaluation and social value metrics and reporting
- Legacy impacts and closure planning
- Social risk, human rights, and social safeguard assessments
- Social impact assessment
- Country exposure - Australia with Asia (Asia Pacific, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea) and broad general international coverage also preferred
