About the Role
This executive-level role is critical in ensuring that Indigenous engagement, development, and employment remain at the forefront of Eastern Guruma’s strategic and operational decision-making. You will lead a dedicated team and be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with Traditional Owners, Indigenous communities, and key corporate and government stakeholders. Your leadership will shape our approach to cultural awareness, Indigenous business development, and workforce participation.
**Skills and Experiences**:
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Indigenous engagement and development strategies aligned with business goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Traditional Owners, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders.
- Drive Indigenous employment, training, and mentoring programs in collaboration with HR and leadership.
- Identify and develop Indigenous business partnerships and joint ventures.
- Lead cultural awareness initiatives across all levels of the organisation.
- Manage budgets and ensure financial accountability for Indigenous programs.
- Represent Eastern Guruma at events, forums, and consultations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Indigenous procurement policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Provide strategic advice and reporting to the Executive and Board.

About You
We are seeking a dynamic Indigenous leader with a genuine passion for Indigenous engagement and a strong commitment to cultural integrity and empowerment.
**You will bring**:

- A deep understanding of Australian Indigenous cultures, informed by lived experience as an Indigenous person.
- Deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, protocols, and community dynamics.
- Demonstrated success in working with Indigenous businesses, government, and corporate stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in leading employment, training, or mentoring initiatives.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Indigenous Studies, Community Development, or related field (preferred).
- High level of cultural sensitivity, integrity, and professional maturity.
