**The Role**

As EL 1 lead for the Independent Portfolio Office in P3M Services, you will be responsible for managing project and product assurance activities for some of the most exciting and complex guided weapons and explosive ordnance products used by the Australian Defence Force. You will lead a team that provides direct support to projects and products to ensure their performance is on track and offer improvement assistance where needed.
You will also be responsible for continuous education, communication of activities across the Group’s delivery organisation, and reporting on the health of projects and products to senior leaders including identifying key delivery challenges. The position will be responsible for leading a team, including setting work priorities, developing strategies and guiding and developing people.
You will spend your days;
- Leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of GWEO’s governance frameworks.
- Contribute advice, support to project, and product monthly reviews.
- Develop and monitor key performance and risk indicators (KPI’s / KRI’s) for program effectiveness including trend analysis.
- Report to senior leaders on the health of our projects and products including improvement recommendations.
- Contribute to the long term strategic and business planning of P3M.
- Coordinate quarterly assurance reviews including documenting outcomes and remediation actions if needed.
- Oversee other programmatic ad-hoc business support as necessary.
**About our Team**
The Independent Portfolio Office sits within GWEO P3M Services (Portfolio, Program/Project, and Product Management Services) across GWEO Group, which supports both GWEO Systems Division and GWEO Manufacturing Division.
The IPO is responsible for GWEO portfolio governance and assurance support including coordinating Group capability reporting and implementing governance activities across the Divisions. This includes reviews of project/product information, end of month reporting to assure SLT of project/product performance, risk management and streamline processes to support GWEO SPOs and Business Units.
- Works collaboratively with SPOs, Business Units and GWEO Group to operate as an effective team member and provide constructive feedback.
- Engages with relevant stakeholders and understands their expectations and concerns.
- Assess and adjust project management methodologies to comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Resolve problems using critical thinking and sound judgment, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.
