Health & Safety Manager

**Key Accountabilities**
- Developing, implementing and reviewing plans, processes and policies that increase safety.
- Controlling and mitigating workplace hazards and risks.
- Ensuring operational compliance with relevant health and safety acts and legislation.
- Advocating for health and safety in organisational policy.
- Staying updated with changes to health and safety acts, legislations and awards.
- Managing Safety Committee, Health and Safety Officers and other staff.
- Inspecting and auditing workplaces, processes and equipment for safety and compliance.
- Reporting and managing incidents and safety breaches.
- Strong Safety legislation understanding
**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Creator and owner of all Safety Documents for the site
- Chairperson of Safety Committee
- Creator and owner of all Safety inductions for new staff and contractors
- Runs all Safety inductions for new equipment used on site
- Captures and reports on Safety KPI’s - LTI, MTI, FAI, NM, PD
- Calculates and publishes our LTIFR and MTIFR
- Quarterly trend analysis on safety KPI’s to advise Ops SLT on CA to mitigate or eliminate safety risk to staff
- Safety Lead on site for Continuous Improvement initiatives for Safety
- Escorts employees for all MTI visits to avoid LTI
- Manages LTI and Workers Compensation cases when they occur to rapid closure
- Informs Operational SLT on all legislative changes to Health and Safety acts and responsibilities for SDS both Federal and State
- PIC for Operational SLT in periods of pandemic such as COVID. Understands Employer obligations and legal requirements at such times and communicates effectively Managements role and responsibilities
- PIC and consultant for all introductions of Operational changes to layout, workflow, work stations, equipment, vehicles etc
- PIC for all Safety Training / Safety Process or change roll outs/ all Safety aspects with our respective Staffing Agencies/ HR matter that includes Safety of staff - Harassment and bullying for example/ all internal Safety Audits/ all Safety Audits - such as ISO
- Comply with all current Work Health and Safety Legislation
- Comply with all current Chain of Responsibility Legislation
- Comply with the Policies and Procedures of Samsung SDS and the 3pl
- Take corrective action to eliminate hazards at work, or report those hazards which cannot be immediately corrected
- Report any incidents, accidents, or damage to your supervisor immediately and follow the correct documented reporting process
**Qualifications**
- First Aid certificate
- Fire Warden Certificate
- Diploma of WHS or Occupational Health and Safety.
**Experience**
- 5+ years’ experience in the Warehousing or 3PL industry
- Demonstrated experience in building reports
- Demonstrated experience in working autonomously
Must live in Sydney, Australia
Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
