The Community and City Services Division puts people, families and community at the forefront of our work. The City Safety, Security and Amenity Branch works with partners and stakeholders to enable and enhance a vibrant, safe and accessible environment for people living, working and visiting the City of Melbourne. The Branch provides support services to people experiencing homelessness and manages security and emergency responses for the municipality.
The Executive Assistant contributes to the objectives of the branch by providing office coordination and support. The role provides high level administrative and secretarial support to the Director City Safety, Security and Amenity.
The Executive Assistant’s role is to enhance the effectiveness of the Director and assist in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the branch through a range of business support and office management activities. They will also ensure that the office of the branch is managed and presented in a professional, efficient, confidential, tactful and helpful manner.

- Extensive experience in administrative support within a fast-paced business environment, demonstrating the ability to anticipate business needs and multitask effectively
- Strong communication skills, and confident engaging and interacting with internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Leaders
- Previous experience in reviewing and preparing documents to a high level for business delivery
- relevant formal degree or relevant in advanced clerical/administrative skills
- Strong customer service focus - ability to demonstrate professionalism, discretion, assertiveness, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proactive and independent approach to workflow management, exercising sound judgment in decision-making and ability to adapt to new systems and processes.
