The role

The purpose of this role is to lead and manage Planning and Production teams for Country Road. You will be responsible for developing the strategic direction for the business along with Design. Managing the financial performance of the business through sales, gross profit and stock management is another fundamental part of the role.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage the financial performance of Country Road according to budget forecast measured by Sales, Gross Profit & Stock Management
- Drive Seasonal Strategic direction alongside Design
- Manage the buy across Australia and South Africa
- Effect trading decisions through competitor analysis, product in-take to ensure that GP is maximised
- Analyse, reccommend and finalise divisional forecasts by providing strategic and corporate viewpoints to determine most credible forecasts for current season and subsequent seasons
- Facilitate and drive a weekly assessment of the divisional performance & provide strategies on the actions required to maximise opportunities missed
- Communicate the margin targets to the business. Manage the achievement of the targets.
- Set the selling price for all channels - concession, retail
- Lead the team in the competitive price analysis and report findings and provide recommendations to EMC
- Oversee the margin, fabric & bulk order management with a view to minimise risk against margin and excess stock levels
- Leading the production team on strategic direction to negotiate with key suppliers to achieve; quick response, deliveries and meet cost strategies
- Support with leadership growth plan and development for direct reports and ensure all team completed at all levels in team
- Provide leadership across merchandise planning and production, promoting vision and motivation for the team; ensuring clear paths of communications and information flow are developed and executed
- Drive a performance achievement culture through a focus on the development of team members skills and capability
- Strong industry experience - from a merchandise background preferred - a keen aesthetic and affinity with product & brand essential
- Experience in the lifestyle sector of the fashion industry preferred
- An understanding of general business practices
- Proven management experience and ability to lead and motivate large teams
- Strategic thinking and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, ability to cascade messaging appropriately and lead as well as work within team - at all levels
- Analytical and problem-solving ability
