**About the Business**
Business Improvement and Technology is responsble for enabling the department and its operations to deliver its services through the provision and governance of information management, systems, data and technology. Their goal is to provide our employees with the tools they need to do their jobs effectively while making it simplier for the community to access the information they need.
**Role Details**
The Manager Technology Governance and Standards is a role within Business Improvement and Technology Directorate and is accountable to the Chief Information Officer for:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining governance frameworks, policies, and standards that ensure the effective and compliant use of technology across the department.
- Governing cloud resources securely and aligning with cloud/infrastructure teams.
- Ensuring data quality and security by overseeing data governance and collaborating with Business Intelligence, Cyber Security, and business units.
- Conducting regular audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to improve governance practices.
Key Outcomes and accountabilities:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive technology governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the Department.
2. Oversee the governance of cloud environments, ensuring that cloud resources are managed effectively, securely, and in compliance with organisational policies. Work closely with the cloud and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment between cloud governance policies and operational practices.
3. Collaborate with the Business Intelligence Team and business units to establish data management standards and practices that reflect contemporary trends and industry best practice.
5. Oversee the Change Management Board, ensuring that the review, approval, and implementation of IT changes have mínimal disruption and risk.
6. Engage with key stakeholders across the department to ensure alignment of governance strategies with business objectives and priorities.
7. Drive strategic initiatives and provide guidance to enhance the performance and continuous improvement of IT systems and processes whilst promoting a culture of compliance.
Note: Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department. The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.
**Special Conditions**
National Police Check required.
Qualifications in Information Technology or Information Systems and/or minimum five years’ experience in ICT complex program management and project governance is desirable.
