About The Role

The Technology Manager - Applications is responsible for leading strategic planning, delivery and evaluation of critical programs, projects and services that ensure the effective management, maintenance, and enhancement of TAFE SA's enterprise applications and platforms.

The role oversees and ensures reliable BAU operations, system performance, and compliance with relevant controls, leads and oversees the development and maintenance of application roadmaps and clear and prioritised product backlogs and directs and oversees critical projects that enhance solution functionality, user experience, and TAFE SA operational efficiency.

The Technology Manager – Applications provides high level advice to TAFE SA Executive and management to shape ICT direction and align technology solutions with strategic priorities and provides expert contribution to the planning and execution of ICT initiatives that enable business change and transformation.

Key Outcomes
  • Lead and oversee the planning, delivery and evaluation of critical programs and services that deliver reliable BAU operations, system performance and compliance with relevant controls for TAFE SA's enterprise applications and platforms.
  • Lead and oversee the development and maintenance of application roadmaps and clear and prioritised product backlogs, in alignment with business priorities, to guide development and release, transition and support planning.
  • Lead and direct the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, systems and standards that ensure the security, stability, performance and availability of enterprise applications and platforms and represent TAFE SA on related committees, working parties and across government forums.
  • Initiate, direct, and oversee critical projects that enhance solution functionality, user experience, and TAFE SA operational efficiency, including managing significant resources to deliver TAFE SA and government ICT priorities.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure ICT services teams understand business needs, manage expectations, and ensure ICT solutions deliver value to staff, students, industry and the community.

Special Conditions
  • Some out of hours work may be required.
  • Some intra/interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
  • Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
