Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney’s The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery acknowledges the original custodians of this land - the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. The Gallery attracts around 1 million visitors annually and runs Australia’s largest education program with over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.

With our expanded campus recent opening the Gallery has a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved building. Providing us with close to double the exhibition space, the expanded Gallery enables us to share more art with more people and provide more family, learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

**About the Role**

This role is responsible for event sales and planning at the Gallery by assisting members of the Sales team with planning and delivery support for booked events. The role also responds to enquiries, prepares quotes, conducts site inspections and planning while being the event day contact for these independently booked events.

**What technical / soft skills you require**
- Some experience in an event sales environment with an enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop
- Well developed Ms office skills and an understanding of event service technology including audio visual
- Strong time management and prioritising skills with strong communication skills and a high level of attention to detail
- RSA Certificate
- Ability to work Monday to Friday roster and evenings/weekends as required

**Targeted questions**
- The Art Gallery is a sensitive venue to hold events with coordination required across several interdependent teams. Please outline what you would consider as the priorities/steps required when arranging a small cocktail reception?
- Describe a time when you provided a time-critical solution to a problem. What was the issue, your actions and end result? What steps did you put in place to ensure a better outcome if the problem arose again.
