The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Handyperson to join our opening team. In this vital role, you'll help ensure our brand-new hotel is kept in immaculate condition through a range of minor maintenance and repair tasks. You'll play a key role in upholding the high standards of comfort, safety, and sustainability our guests expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house (including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and furniture fixes)
  • Respond to maintenance requests swiftly, ensuring minimal disruption to guests
  • Support preventative maintenance under the guidance of the Director of Engineering
  • Inspect areas regularly to identify issues, report hazards, and escalate major repairs
  • Assist with refurbishments, room turnovers, and event setup
  • Keep tools and equipment safe, clean, and functional
  • Follow all WHS and hotel safety/security procedures
  • Communicate effectively with teams across departments
  • Provide professional, discreet customer service at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a maintenance/handyperson role (ideally in hospitality or commercial buildings)
  • Competency in basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with a commitment to safety and guest privacy
  • Good physical fitness and manual dexterity

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • White Card and/or Working at Heights certification (desirable)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic digital tools
