**About the Role**
Liquor & Gaming NSW administers the regulatory framework for the liquor, gaming, wagering, casino and registered clubs’ sectors in NSW. This includes undertaking compliance and enforcement activities, providing policy advice to government, licensing certain activities and delivering industry support and education activities.

As an Investigator in Liquor & Gaming you will administer authorised legislation by conducting efficient, innovative and effective delivery of multi-faceted intelligence-led, risk-based investigation and enforcement activities for the protection of the public, businesses and communities in NSW.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Undertake compliance and investigation activities through the delivery of risk based regulatory programs to ensure and enhance compliance
- Support and participate in proactive compliance operations where needed, to educate and support industry participants on their rights and obligations and to monitor and ensure compliance
- Provide advice to internal and external customers and stakeholders to maximise regulatory outcomes and reduce negative impact on customers
- Advise customers on investigation outcomes to ensure they are informed of action being taken
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policy, and procedure to demonstrate exemplary regulatory practice to the NSW community.
- Gather and review evidence and prepare and maintain accountable records, documents, submissions and reports to recommend appropriate action to decision makers and ensure recording keeping and legislative requirements are met
**To be successful in this role, you will possess skills in**:
- Executing compliance and investigation tasks by implementing risk-based regulatory initiatives to ensure and bolster compliance.
- Supporting and engaging in proactive compliance operations as necessary, providing education and assistance to industry participants regarding their rights and obligations, and overseeing compliance.
- Offering guidance to internal and external customers and stakeholders to optimize regulatory outcomes and minimize negative impacts on clients.
- Informing customers about investigation results to ensure transparency regarding actions taken.
- Staying updated on relevant legislation, policy, and procedures to exhibit exemplary regulatory practice to the NSW community.
- Collecting and assess evidence, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports to recommend appropriate actions to decision-makers, ensuring compliance with record-keeping and legislative requirements.

**Essential Requirements**
- Certificate IV (Government) Investigations or similar qualification or the preparedness to undertake employee sponsored program
- The ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout NSW.
- A current Class C Driver Licence.
- Flexible working arrangements are available within business operational needs, at current there is an expectation of McKell office attendance one day a week.
