The roleReporting to the Manager, Healthcare Analysis Team, you will use your experience and knowledge of reporting and analytics skills to help develop and support the reporting and analytics requirements of key Healthcare Improvement Unit information strategies.
- Work in partnership with the business to understand business needs, gather data requirements and support delivery of critical information products.
- Develop views, information layers and data models to support enterprise data products
- Develop and support development of reporting and business intelligence solutions including visualisations to deliver reporting, analytical and data products.
- Provide consulting and advice on projects and assist solution architects to develop and maintain the logical and physical data models to ensure alignment with the enterprise information model and standards.
- Perform metadata design and maintenance, developing and maintaining the formal description of the data and data structures.
- Participate in due diligence around acquisition of new information technologies to maximise alignment with the enterprise standards.
- Understand and leverage the Enterprise Architecture principles and standards adopted by HIU
- Demonstrate highly effective interpersonal skills at all levels, including consultation and presentation skills and proven ability in negotiation and influencing.
- Prepare high-level briefing documents, submissions, correspondence and reports.
- Use ethical decision-making and project management principles in the achievement of project goals.

**The successful personYou will have**:

- Experience and knowledge across the end-to-end Lifecyle of reporting, analytical and business intelligence products
- Experience in Data Modeling, including dimensional/Kimball methodologies, through DBT, ERWin and SQL Server Visual Data Modeling tools or similar
- Skilled in the design, creation and maintenance of reporting and business objects in SQL especially in SQL Server and Oracle environments, including query design and performance tuning
- Experience in the creation and maintenance of reporting and business intelligence dashboards (preferably Power BI; QlikView, Tableau, SAP WEBI, Lumira or other also considered)
- Experience in data visualisation platforms and software including Crystal Reports and Qlikview
- Skills in the analysis of health information, with a preference for presenting analysis on the relationships between various areas of health services and demand modelling.
- Ability to create SQL queries and views for data interrogation and extraction
- Proven analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to analyse, interrogate and interpret complex data from a variety of sources, and translate into effective information.
- Ability to collaborate with and provide leadership to other team members, foster and encourage a workplace environment that is outcomes focused
- Support a culture of continuous improvement / learning through effective communication
- Knowledgeable in the complexities and contemporary issues of the public health system.
- A creative, innovative, self-driven and independent attitude in addressing and solving complex health system issues.

Although not mandatory, a background in statistics and the use of statistical techniques would be highly regarded.
