HEQS is an importer and distributor of furniture and homewares, with a vision to provide Australian with versatile options for quality products with an affordable price tag. To achieve our vision, we are looking for an experienced Category Assistant with at least 3 years of experience to source, negotiate and assist our company by directly dealing with tenders at department stores.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Managing tenders, pre tender, orders and retail comparisons
- Liaising with factories / manufacturers to request and receive tender quotas, sample follow ups, QA test reports, FRI, delivery dates and shipping rates.
- Sourcing of Products and Negotiation of Prices
- Know and understand category in detail including product performance, market share, competitors, price and promotion, suppliers, category trends and customer insight
- Forecasting profits and sales whilst optimizing the sales volume and profitability so that set, prices HEQS has to offer the best overall value in market whilst keeping within the pricing guidelines
- Keep track of spend and make sure work is approved and signed off as necessary.
- Handle numbers confidently; collate information ensuring accuracy of financial and performance data.
- Work in an organised manner using your own knowledge and expertise to deliver on time and to standard.
- Actively seek information from customers to understand their needs and expectations.

**Eligibility & Skills**:

- 3+ Years Sales, Account, Category Management or Operations experience (required)
- Bachelor's degree in business administration with specialization in marketing and retail. (required)
- Recognized certification as a certified professional category manager (CPCM).
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel & Outlook
- Understanding of supply chain procedures
- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
- Solid organizational skills & logistics knowledge
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Interest and experience in e-commerce
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL [1] and other analytical tools

**Salary**: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Commission

**Education**:

- Bachelor Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Sales / Accounts: 3 years (preferred)
- Category Management: 3 years (preferred)
- Social media management: 1 year (preferred)
- E-commerce: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Australian Driver's License (preferred)
