**Position Information**:
Birrong Girls High School is a vibrant, comprehensive and multicultural girls' secondary school established in 1957 and located in the south-western suburbs of Sydney. Ninety-four per cent (94%) of the 737 students enrolled in the school are from Language Backgrounds Other than English (LBOTE), comprising a diverse range of cultural backgrounds which represent 40 language groups. The school's Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) is 148. The school's motto, _Ad Astra_ (To the stars), emphasises high expectations for teaching and learning and the school has maintained a consistent focus on overcoming disadvantage by improving learning outcomes for our students. **Selection Criteria**:
1. Approval to teach Library (Secondary) or currently undertaking, or enrolled in, Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.

2. Capacity to develop and refine library systems and processes and implement a creative and flexible approach to managing a library that functions as a learning hub to support community connections, critical thinking and the needs of a diverse range of learners.

4. Capacity to lead and contribute to extra-curricular activities across the school, including Premier’s Reading Challenge and demonstrated ability to provide quality teaching to maximise student learning outcomes for girls from a low socio-economic, community and non-English speaking background.
