Position Information

Sadleir Public School, part of the Liverpool Network in South Western Sydney, offers mainstream classes, a DOE preschool, and a support unit for students with Autism and/or intellectual disabilities.

With 353 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, 9% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Eighty-two percent come from a language background other than English, mainly Arabic, Samoan, and Vietnamese. The school also runs an Arabic Community Language program.

Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach Infants & Primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a primary school library using the Oliver Library Management system, including budget, technology and resource management.

  • Demonstrated capacity to lead a dynamic, innovative and student focused library learning space that promotes a love of literature.
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with the capacity to work collaboratively and build positive relationships within a diverse school community.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Special Notes

This is a permanent part-time position for 4 days per week 0.8FTE (full-time equivalent)

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.
