Position Information

Ryde Public School is located in the heart of the city of Ryde and was founded in 1868. The school is currently enriched by the 518 students. 86% of our students are from language backgrounds other than English. Four students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. More than 50 language backgrounds are represented within the total enrolments in the school. The school delivers quality learning programs addressing the needs of all learners, including two Opportunity Classes for gifted students and a Diverse Learning Space with two multi-categorical, one autism and one IM class. The school oversees The North Learning Centre (Specialised behaviour and learning support for the Northern Sydney Network). The involved parent body contributes to the inclusive culture that supports all students and ensures that everyone achieves to his or her potential.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.

Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, teachers, parents, and the wider school community, along with experience in using the NSW Department of Education Library Management system to monitor and maintain school library resources, including digital content such as eBooks and websites.

Demonstrated capacity to deliver creative, innovative, and flexible lessons that support student learning across the curriculum, while effectively managing a stimulating library learning environment that engages all students and enhances their learning experiences.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
