**About the role**
Are you ready to make a difference in the community? The City of Parramatta is undergoing a transformation, and we're seeking an experienced Events & Festivals Manager to join our City Engagement & Experience team.
As the Events & Festivals Manager, you will lead a team of professionals to curate and deliver Council's annual events, festivals, and activations program. You will be responsible for driving economic growth, visitor engagement, and the night-time economy in the Local Government Area, while effectively managing Council's activities related to the identity of the City and Council and its engagement with key stakeholders.
In this role, you will manage strategic partnership investments in externally delivered annual events and festivals, as well as oversee the coordination of activations in public domain sites across the Parramatta LGA. You will identify opportunities for inbound investment by third parties to deliver events and festivals that position Parramatta as a destination of choice for high-quality, unique experiences.
Collaboration is key in our transformed government department, and as the Events & Festivals Manager, you will work closely with other teams in City Engagement & Experience to ensure timely publicity, communications, and marketing campaigns and programs for Council's events and festivals. You will also partner with arts and cultural program teams to coordinate innovative, creative, and compelling experiences for the community, businesses, and visitors.
**Key focus of the role**:
- Lead and manage a dynamic team of professionals in the creation, planning, design, and delivery of the City of Parramatta's vibrant and engaging annual events and festivals program.
- Use your creativity and strategic vision to align the program with the Council's goals for economic growth, community engagement, and a thriving night-time economy.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimise publicity and marketing for Council's events and festivals through various channels including print, digital, and social media. Additionally, foster relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside the organization to identify and pursue opportunities for high-quality events and festivals that showcase Parramatta as a premier destination.
- Draw on your extensive experience in events management to ensure that large-scale public events and festivals are planned and executed to the highest standard, while complying with all relevant regulations and WHS principles.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation among your team and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations and drive continuous improvement and innovation to optimise services for clients.
- Establish performance metrics and risk management strategies to ensure early identification and mitigation of potential issues.
**About you**
- Possess a degree in Creative Arts, Events Management, Marketing, Business Management, Communications, or Public Relations (or related discipline), and have at least 10 years of experience in events management, including a demonstrated track record of achieving strategic objectives.
- Show evidence of excellent leadership skills, including at least 5 years of experience in leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams, and delivering services to a high standard to meet financial and other business performance criteria.
- Excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills, utilising engaging techniques to achieve outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills, interpreting data and providing insights to stakeholders, along with commercial acumen with an ability to identify and drive opportunities.
- Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills, with confidence in dealing with high priority and sensitive issues, and the ability to work with leaders to resolve complex conflicts.
- Proven change management leadership capabilities within a complex stakeholder environment.

**What’s on offer**
We are offering an attractive remuneration from $155,486 - $172,377 plus superannuation.
