**About the Role**
You will be responsible for promoting the activities of the Department including events, academic seminar, research successes and teaching outcomes. Working with staff across the Department of Psychiatry in various locations across Melbourne, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator will understand the activities and promote them in creative ways to diverse audiences. Key responsibilities of the role include website management, social media engagement, media communications and development of marketing material.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement an innovative and engaging social media plan. Undertake regular monitoring, ensure compliance with best practice, and maintain a current understanding of the social media landscape.
- Identify and produce engaging content for a variety of internal and external marketing platforms. Ensure that all marketing content is produced with a consistent approach to brand, tone of voice and audience engagement principles.
- Develop and implement a targeted media communications plan for key department activities with a focus on research, teaching and events.
**Who we are looking for**
You have demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills, including building and maintaining stakeholder relationships across a large, complex organization. You will be able to work autonomously and have experience working with diverse people and marketing to diverse audiences.
You will also have:
- The incumbent will have qualifications in Marketing and Communications or Business (or related field) with relevant experience; or extensive experience and broad knowledge of the field; or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience and/or education and training.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including experience in development and promotion of key messages, achievements and activities to diverse audiences
- High-level experience and competency in managing website content and social media channels to promote programs

**Your new team - “**The Department of Psychiatry**“**
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne was established in the 1960s. It is one of the largest Departments in the Melbourne Medical School. There are about 120 academic and professional staff, 140 honorary staff and 50 students pursuing research degrees from Honours, Masters, and PhD programs. A further 240 students are enrolled in graduate coursework programs, including the flagship Master of Psychiatry program. The Department plays a key role in the medical curriculum of the graduate Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, providing rotations in psychiatry for medical students and teaching in other sections of the course. The Department also offers opportunities for students undertaking research projects in the MD course.
