**The Role**
Key requirements

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- The administration and upkeep of Partnership Security records, documents and data.
- Assessing the security posture applied to Defence IS&T activities to ensure policy compliance and identify security concerns.
- Supporting engagement and communication efforts across a wide range of stakeholders, managing enquiries, and assisting in the development of security risk mitigations, including problem solving and issue management/resolution.
- Undertaking the assessment of Defence IS&T activities to identify security risks and issues, and developing recommendations to mitigate identified problems.
- Sustaining productive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across various sectors of Defence, Government and Industry to achieve security risk management outcomes in accordance with Partnership Security objectives.
- Ad hoc assistance with broader Divisional program activities.

**About our Team**
The Partnership Security team is in DSTG’s Science Strategic Planning and Engagement Division and is responsible for ensuring that our security protections and those applied by our collaborators are contemporary and aligned with Defence’s security policies. As Defence, collaborations are evolving and moving into more sensitive and nationally classified areas, the Partnership Security team’s role is to ensure that Defence’s technology and capability edge is not compromised.

We are looking for professionals with strong experience in security risk management and analysis, with an understanding of Australia’s strategic, Defence and national security priorities.
- Have experience or the ability to acquire rapidly an understanding of Australian Government and Defence security principles, policies and controls and the role these play in mitigating high-level security risks.
- Be adept at interpreting policy, developing and delivering solutions to security challenges, and advising on critical security issues.
- Demonstrate communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to convey policy advice with a high level of accuracy.
- Be comfortable with proactively building and maintaining productive relationships across Defence, Government, Defence Industry, Academia and Publicly Funded Research Agencies.
- Actively maintain and seek up-to-date knowledge on Security threats, risk and policy changes. You may be required to travel interstate occasionally to support key program objectives.

Security Clearance: Prior to commencement successful applicants will be required to obtain a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance. A higher level of security clearance may be required as you progress in this role
