**About the Role**
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual with a passion for improving child oral health through qualitative research. As the Qualitative Research Officer located in the Melbourne Dental School at the University of Melbourne, you will have the opportunity to work on important research projects that have a real-world impact. You will join a dynamic and collaborative team of researchers who are dedicated to improving the health outcomes of young children and have the chance to develop your skills in research design, implementation, and analysis.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct qualitative data collection including scheduling of interviews and focus groups and conducting interviews with participants and stakeholders.
- Analyse and synthesize data collected in interviews and focus groups, co-design and conduct participatory data analysis, and prepare reports for clients and stakeholders.
- Undertake administrative functions in support of project objectives including event and stakeholder relationship coordination and support the project team to manage competing priorities and deadlines and deliver projects in a timely manner.
**Who We Are Looking For**
If you have highly developed organisational skills and can set priorities and meet deadlines, you will excel in this role. You should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as experience in manuscript preparation for publication in peer-reviewed journals, which will be highly valued.
You will also have:
- Degree/Honours/Masters qualification in dentistry/oral health, science, biomedical science, public health or other relevant qualifications.
- Experience in qualitative data collection, management and analysis.
- Appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation.
- Demonstrated ability to work in close cooperation with other members of a research team and to maintain good working relationships.
