**The Role**

These duties can include setting priorities and managing workflow, managing workforce rosters, budget allocations and workplace health and safety requirements, as well as conducting governance and quality assurance activities. In addition, strong clinical skills are important in ensuring service delivery processes are safe and efficient, and that there is technical support and oversight available to junior clinicians.

The APS 6 Clinic Manager is responsible for leading a small team and engaging with other relevant stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for ADF members. Effective communication skills are essential, particularly as this position is geographically disconnected from its headquarters.

This position represents an opportunity for applicants to combine managerial, clinical, administrative, and customer service skills.

**About our Team**
Joint Health Command (JHC) is responsible for the delivery of healthcare services to over 70,000 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel. Through the delivery of reliable, resilient and best practice health services, JHC enables a healthy, ready, and supported Force from enlistment through to transition from service.

Health care services are delivered through eight Joint Health regions across Australia. The APS 6 Clinic Manager position is part of Joint Health Unit - Victoria and Tasmania and is based at Anglesea Barracks, Hobart, TAS. Each Joint Health Unit facility provides a range of services which can include medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy, mental health, rehabilitation, and in-patient care.

The JHC workforce is an integrated, multi-disciplinary team of Defence members, civilians, contractors and professional health providers. We work together to manage around one million patient health service interactions with Defence members each year.

This position reports to the Health Centre Manager at Simpson Health Centre in Melbourne.

As a team leader, they must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. They must be able to develop productive relationships with various stakeholders both internal and external to Defence. The ability to foster a service-focused and positive work culture is essential in ensuring that all team members are working towards shared objectives.
