Finance Support Officer

Our **Technical, Advisory, and Capability**practice and **Team Downer**serves as one of the Major Service Providers delivering consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, leveraging innovative approaches such as mission and digital engineering to enable the successful delivery of critical Defence programs.

This includes collaboration with key Defence entities, including **Defence Digital Group (DDG), National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG),**and branches across the **Navy, Army, and Air Force**.

We are currently seeking an experienced **Finance Support Officer**for our consulting services and Integrated Work Packages.

If successful in securing a role, your work may involve:

- **Tender Evaluation Support**- Contribute to all financial aspects of the tender process, including pricing analysis, RFQ development, and financial inputs to the Source Evaluation Report.
- **Financial Reporting & Analysis**- Develop Finance TEWG reports, conduct financial analysis to support project execution planning, and present costed options for capability trade-off decisions.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**- Provide finance advice to project-level working groups and support written and oral briefs to internal leadership and executive stakeholders.
- **Leadership & Team Coordination**- Occasionally lead the finance team within the commercial environment, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- **Governance & Communication**- Assist in preparing briefing materials, status updates, and other documentation as directed, ensuring compliance with Commonwealth processes and standards.
- Strong **Financial Advisory, Cost Modelling and Assurance experience**within Defence, government, or professional services.
- **Relevant qualifications or certifications**.
- **Land Domain Acquisition Expertise**- Demonstrated project experience supporting major acquisition programs within the Land Domain, including financial planning and execution.
- **Tender Evaluation & Cost Modelling**- Skilled in developing and evaluating complex tenders with a strong focus on financial assessment, cost estimation, and model development.
- **Financial Management & Strategic Support**- Proven ability to deliver financial insights and support across project lifecycles, contributing to informed decision-making and capability trade-offs.

Our work is **highly complex and confidential;**applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance. Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary. In some cases, this may impose restrictions individuals who are dual citizens, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1.
