Garvan’s Precision Immunology Program (co-led by A/Prof Elissa Deenick and Prof Tri Phan) is one of six strategic research programs, and aims to bring together experts in Immunology to develop next generation vaccines and improved treatments for immunological diseases such as allergy and autoimmunity. Our teams collaborate with leading clinicians and researchers at Garvan and beyond, providing supportive infrastructure and end-to-end expertise in immunology research.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The
**Salary**: Up to $120k + 10.5% super + salary packaging (dependent on experience)
Employment Type: 2 year term contract

WHAT YOU WILL DO- Working with the Program Co-Leads A/Prof Elissa Deenick and Prof Tri Phan, and other internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategic and operational plans for the Program- Partnering with Program Co-Leads and Faculty to develop funding plans for the Program, and contributing to the planning and writing of funding requests from government, philanthropic, and industry sources- Working with scientific and professional staff to develop and manage complex technical documents and reports, including submissions to Human Research Ethics Committees- Overseeing the financial management of the Program by working closely with the Garvan Finance team to track spending, perform budget forecasting, and creating reports- In collaboration with Program partners, identify and track the unique data resources of the Program, including protocols, and other technical documents and resources- Talking to key external collaborators, stakeholders, and potential funders to identify and develop new project opportunities, communicate progress, champion collaboration, and ensure the timely completion of projects in alignment with set goals- Continuously surveying Program operations to identify areas of inefficiency or potential risk, and work with Program leadership to address these issues
ABOUT YOU- PhD in relevant field such as immunology, cell biology- Demonstrated experience in program/project management, including the capacity to manage multiple projects on time and on budget, with a high degree of independence- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead the generation of reports and funding proposals, and give presentations- A strategic thinker who enjoys grappling with complex scientific, organisational, and political problems- Highly organised and capable of managing a complex and dynamic workload with strong emotional quotient
