Role requirements
- A degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, Asset Management, Trade qualification complimented with post-trade training, or other relevant technical field is highly regarded.
- Experience in Asset Management, Building Services, Facilities Management or similar, preferably in the mining and resources industry is highly regarded.
- Project management qualifications and experience is highly regarded.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate proven technical skills in asset management, and familiarity with resource development and/or industrial operations, have strong communication skills, be a team player, be solutions driven, and a self-starter.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Support the Technical Services culture to ensure a safe, productive, sustainable, and disciplined approach to work.
- Work cooperatively with a wide range of technical specialists and provide support to the Project Manager and Director.
- Assist in the development and implementation of project management plans.
- Assist with scoping individual work packages, procurement and tendering and contract management.
- Define, measure, analyse, improve and control the management of Technical Services plant and equipment, infrastructure, and risk management.
- Maintaining and implementing the Asset Management Plan, strategies, registers, procedures, and processes.
- Plan and execute the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of plant and equipment in line with AMP requirements and industry best practice.
- Support development of capital budget submissions and the management of AMLP plant and equipment budgets.
- Develop technical specifications to engage consultants and contractors in line with departmental procurement processes.
- Prepare high level technical advice to the Director and Executive Director on technical issues relating to project deliverables.
- Critically review designs and technical specifications for abandoned mine, noncommercial water assets, and exploration data centre projects.
- Consult and communicate with project stakeholders and deliver upon negotiated consultation outcomes.
- Consult with administrative, management, regional staff and other key stakeholders on project scope and development to build effective relationships and share expertise and knowledge.
- Prepare and/or organise the preparation of complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence.
- Incorporate project and operational risk assessment processes into management plans and be able to facilitate workshops to characterise relevant risks and controls.
- Provide assistance to existing field staff, as required, to ensure suitable supervision of consultants and contractors while on site, ensuring they work in compliance with the site's Health, Safety, and Environment Management Plan requirements and other contractual and quality requirements.
