**About the Role**
The Indigenous Student Support Officer provides support, advice, and referral services to Indigenous students, fostering their academic success and well-being. Working closely with Murrup Barak’s Student Success Team, the role contributes to events and strategies that enhance Indigenous student support. Reporting to the Team Leader, Indigenous Student Success, the Officer plays a key role in delivering pastoral care and initiatives tailored to student needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Contribute to the development and planning of projects and strategies that produce the optimal outcomes for Indigenous students enrolled at the University of Melbourne.
- Communicate to the Team Leader and provide progress reports as directed.
- Coordinate Murrup Barak’s student enrichment activities and effectively implement programs that seek to engage Indigenous students
- Ensure support strategies are culturally appropriate, and referrals are made to local Indigenous services.

**Who we are looking for**

You will also have:

- A degree or equivalent combination of relevant training and employment experience.
- Relevant knowledge and understanding of the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and demonstrated understanding of the importance of Indigenous participation and engagement in education.
- Experience in planning, developing, implementing events and activities designed for student engagement. Proven ability to provide reports on progress of activities.
- Demonstrated expertise in case management and student support services, including the capacity to track and report on student progress.
